Many visitors to Medellín book a facial or a skin treatment while they’re here. The trick is timing. Some treatments leave you glowing the same day, some need a day or two, and Botox takes up to two weeks to show its full result. Here’s how to plan them around your trip, from the day you land to your flight home.

Hydrofacial with ozone steam at Zaharum Medical Spa in El Poblado, Medellín

If you’re in Medellín for a weekend

Stick to treatments with no downtime so you can go out the same day. A Hydrofacial plus a relaxing massage fits into one afternoon: your skin looks fresh and you get to unwind after exploring the city.

If you’re here for a week

Book the treatments that leave some redness, like microneedling, salmon DNA or a deep cleansing with extractions, in the first days of your trip. That way your skin has time to settle before you fly. Save no-downtime treatments, like a massage, for the end of your stay. Traveling with someone? A spa day for two (a massage followed by a facial) is a great way to unwind together during your trip.

If you’re staying two weeks or more

This is the best window for Botox. The result appears gradually and is complete in about 10 to 14 days, so you’ll see it before you leave. It’s also enough time to start a series of microneedling or salmon DNA sessions.
