What Cosmelan Treats

  • Melasma on the cheeks, forehead or upper lip.
  • Sun spots and age spots.
  • Dark marks left after acne or inflammation.
  • Uneven, dull skin tone.

During your assessment, the doctor looks at the type of pigmentation and your skin type to confirm Cosmelan is the right choice, or whether another treatment should come first.

How the Treatment Works

  1. Medical assessment: we review your pigmentation, history and current routine.
  2. In-office application: the doctor applies the depigmenting mask. You go home with it on and remove it after the time set for your skin.
  3. At-home maintenance: you continue with the cream from the maintenance kit, following the doctor’s instructions.
  4. Follow-up: we check your progress and fine-tune your aftercare.

What to Expect in the First Days

Redness, sensitivity and peeling for several days are normal, so plan it for a quieter week. Results build gradually over the following weeks.

Planning Around a Trip

Cosmelan Peel FAQ

Does Cosmelan get rid of melasma permanently?

Melasma can come back, especially with sun exposure and hormonal changes. Cosmelan can lighten it significantly, and keeping your results depends on daily sunscreen and at-home maintenance.

Does it hurt?

You may feel mild warmth or itching during the application, and your skin will feel sensitive for a few days afterward.

Who shouldn’t get it?

It isn’t recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or on irritated or broken skin. The doctor will confirm at your assessment.

Why is the home kit separate?

At-home maintenance is a key part of your results. We price it separately (COP 1,500,000) so you know exactly what you’re paying for.
